Has anyone ever used a Britax Marathon with a newborn?

My second son is due in June and I am debating whether to buy him an infant carrier or just used my 3 year old’s marathon and get my toddler a Frontier ( which we are planning to do somewhere down the road anyways) The only concern I have is that when the straps are on the lowest level it still looks like it might be a little big for a newborn, I didn’t get it with my son until he was 8 months old so we didn’t have a problem there.

So has anyone ever used theirs for a newborn? Or should I just go with a traditional infant carrier? I just hate to buy a new one when I know I will only be using it for a few months!!

~oh and my first son was only 19 1/2 inches long at birth so I don’t have really tall babies to begin with!

Thanks in advance!

I know what you mean about having to buy a new one that will only be used for a few months, but consider this…if your newborn/infant falls asleep in the car seat while you’re out and about, do you really want to risk waking him up to take him out and put him in the stroller? Its a huge pain to have to bundle and unbundle them in and out of car seats! Spending the money on an infant seat is worth it to me just so that I can leave him in the car seat and just pop him into a snap n go!
